Columbus CampusThe city of Columbus is 40 miles south of Indianapolis off I-65. The IBC Columbus campus is conveniently located near Columbus Municipal Airport on the north side of the city and is easily accessible off Central Avenue. Located within the Indianapolis, Louisville and Cincinnati triangle, Columbus is a short distance for students from these surrounding communities.
The City of ColumbusThe city of Columbus, home to approximately 40,000, is a dynamic edge city with award-winning schools, thriving businesses and family-oriented neighborhoods. Columbus is a growing city. From 1995-2007 existing companies expanded their operations in Columbus totaling over $1.6 billion in new investment and creating over 4,000 new jobs. The Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area (metro), consisting of Bartholomew County, was one of two new Indiana metros added by the federal government in 2004. In addition to growing, Columbus is getting attention. It is an international architectural showplace that is currently ranked 11th in the U.S. on the list of safest cities per population. In 2008, Columbus was noted as one of America’s 100 best places to live and launch a small business by Fortune Small Business Magazine. In 2006, Columbus won the highly competitive national contest, “America in Bloom.” In 2004 it was named as one of “The Ten Most Playful Towns” by Nick Jr. Family Magazine. GQ magazine named Columbus one of the “62 Reasons to Love Your Country.” Columbus was one of the first locations for Indiana Business College in 1902. |
